Welcome! My name is Katie, and I’m a Hillsdale College graduate and a Spanish, Latin, and English teacher. In spring 2010, I student-taught Spanish and Latin to high school and middle school students. In July 2010, I left home to teach English in Valparaíso, Chile for 5 months. Hello! Pleased to make your acquaintance. I took Latin my freshman year at university, but have forgotten most of it; I still promise myself I’ll put out ol’ Wheelock one day and refresh my memory. I also have an abiding love for ice cream (favorite flavor=coffee), mugs of soda (Root Beer), Christmas lights, mountains, leaves, snow, goofing off with kids (I’m an uncle), fire, ballparks (especially when there’s a game on), and a whole lot of other stuff you’ll find me babbling about on my blog.

By the way, is that Hillsdale College perhaps located in Michigan? Because my friends at the Egotist’s Club blog are graduates of that one.

Ah, Wheelock! My good ole friend! I’ve abused Wheelock just enough to rebind it with duct tape, but not enough to pretend I am fluent in Latin or that I can read much with out some serious lexiconical aid. On a less linguistic note, my favorite ice cream flavor changes, but I’m a fan of mint chip and Hershey’s Raspberry Roadrunner. I enjoy goofing off with kids too (I’m a cousin and a softball coach), and I love mugs of honeyed green tea and Dr. Pepper (not in the same mug at the same time, however).

Hillsdale College is indeed in Michigan, and it seems the Egoist Club consists of fellow alumni, but I’m not sure who they are. They keep a great site, so I’ll be following them. (They must be wonderful people if they are from my alma mater. I may be biased. Maybe.)
